Ben Newbury is an expert storyteller. A technical polymath on set and in post-production with exceptional taste, a highly sensitive intelligence, quick wit and moral integrity.

He grew up in sunny Leeds, England. At college, he got thrown out of Art for being a bit of a ‘smart-arse’ - something he wholeheartedly disputes. So he took English Literature at University and got a double first. Then went to work for a big advertising agency. 

He left to join production on Season 15 of Midsomer Murders - which is cool if you like killing old people (which Ben does). During Midsomer, coached by the old hands, Ben’s directing took off. One particularly chilly £300 music video got seen by the promo icon Sophie Muller, who offered to teach him how to imagine short form properly.

He went on to work with the best creative teams in the business, directing music videos and commercials for the biggest stars and brands on the planet. And made a short film that won a bunch of awards. All just to prove his old art teacher wrong.
